We read reports of those on the right causing dissention, dividing, being bigoted, etc.. In those spheres there is no disagreement, so it must be true.
We read reports of those on the left causing dissention, dividing, being bigoted, etc.. In those spheres there is no disagreement, so it must be true.
To disagree with a position does not mean one is hateful or bigoted. To hold to a wrong solution for a right reason does not mean one is an idiot. There is ilintent and compassion on both sides.
Friends, is see you all as more alike in defining the problems then different. I also see you more alike in tone than different. I laugh when my friends on the left call friends on the rights bigoted when they’re doing the very same thing, or friends on the right calling friends on the left evil when they’re doing the very same thing.
We agree there is a wealth disparity problem, but we disagree on solution or cause. We agree there should be rule of law, but we disagree on what mercy looks like. We agree people should have freedom of choice, but we disagree on what areas. We agree on need for criminal justice reform, but disagree on solutions. We agree people need to be compassionate, but we are not towards one another.
The bottom line: We could all be better listeners. We could all be better teachers. We could all be more consistent.
